Why the ‘Real Housewives’ star is ‘pissed off’ at her former husband’s tweet about her
A source close to “Real Housewife” star Rhea Butcher tells PEOPLE exclusively that she’s “pissing off” her former “Real Husband” husband and is “embarrassed” at how much they have made off each other.
“I think he’s been really hypocritical and he’s hurtful to me,” Butcher says.
“He doesn’t get to make decisions on my life.
He’s just a pawn in his marriage.”
Butcher, 29, was married to Rhea from 2005 to 2013.
“When you get married, you’re basically a piece of property.
And I think he wants to use me for his personal gain,” Butcher told PEOPLE.
“It’s just ridiculous.
He should just let me go.
It’s a huge, huge, big deal.”
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said the “Real” Housewives star has been “hanging out with friends” in the wake of the recent public backlash against her husband.
“Her husband is a pawn.
He doesn’t own me, and he can’t,” the source said.
“If he had been a little more understanding and let me do what I wanted, I could have lived happily ever after.”
The “Real housewives” star was recently fired from “Real Beach House,” her Bravo reality show that was originally launched in 2013.
According to the source, Butcher is now trying to move past the controversy and move on with her life.
“She’s getting back to the things she loves doing,” the insider said.
In her Instagram post, Butcher wrote that she was “disappointed” with her former Husband, whom she called “my best friend and my life partner.”
“He made me feel like I was worthless,” Butcher wrote.
“And now he wants me to give up what I have and let him have me again.
He thinks I’m nothing more than a tool, a tool to get his money and attention.”
“I am so angry that I just can’t help it,” the star continued.
“How many other people can I be like this?
I know I deserve better.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, Rhea’s rep, Brian Womack, wrote that the “Unsolved Mysteries” star is “very disappointed” in Butcher.
“Rhea is a talented, highly talented, wonderful, intelligent, beautiful and kind soul,” Womak said.
